What is an ATA Carnet and do I need one?
An ATA Carnet is an international customs document that allows you to temporarily import goods — like exhibition machinery, product displays or professional equipment — into India without paying customs duty, provided you export them again after the show. If your exhibits are coming back home, you almost certainly need an ATA Carnet. We manage the entire ATA Carnet process on your behalf, including documentation, customs declarations and re-export compliance.
How far in advance should I send my enquiry?
For air freight, we recommend contacting us at least 3–4 weeks before the build-up date. For sea freight, 6–8 weeks is ideal. For road freight from South Asia (e.g. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal), 3–4 weeks. That said, we regularly handle last-minute urgent shipments — so even if you're close to the deadline, contact us immediately and we will find a way.
Can you handle heavy machinery and oversized cargo?
Absolutely. We regularly handle CNC machines, turbines, aircraft parts and other heavy industrial exhibits for shows like IMTEX, Aero India and Engineering Expo. We operate our own forklifts and cranes at major venues and have specialist heavy-lift partners across India for outsized loads.
Do you handle return shipments after the exhibition?
Yes — return and re-export is a core part of our service. After the show, our team repacks your exhibits, re-labels all cases, handles the customs re-export paperwork and ships everything back to origin (or onward to your next show worldwide). For ATA Carnet shipments, we handle the discharge documentation to ensure compliance.
Which exhibitions and venues do you cover?
We have established on-site presence at all major exhibition venues in India — Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Delhi, India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Bombay Exhibition Centre and Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, BIEC and Yelahanka AFS in Bengaluru, HITEX in Hyderabad, Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Chennai Trade Centre, Biswa Bangla CC in Kolkata, and many more. If your venue isn't listed, contact us — we cover all of India.
What if my cargo has hazardous materials?
We handle IATA/IMDG classified dangerous goods subject to airline and Indian customs regulations. Please declare any hazardous content in your enquiry form. Our team will advise on classification, labelling, packing and the required documentation (SDS, DGD). Additional lead time is needed for DG shipments.
Can you help with literature, giveaways and promotional items?
Yes. Promotional materials, brochures, gifts and samples that will be distributed at the show are typically imported on a final import basis (not ATA Carnet). We handle the customs valuation, duty assessment and clearance for these items. Please include them separately in your cargo description as they require different documentation from temporary imports.
Do you work with overseas freight forwarders and exhibition agents?
Yes — we work closely with international exhibition freight forwarders, customs brokers and event agencies worldwide. We can act as your India-side partner, handling everything from port of entry to stand delivery. We regularly partner with IELA member companies and independent exhibition agents globally.
